Because literacy is critical to the economic and personal well being of all residents in Bartholomew County, the Bartholomew County Literacy Task Force was formed bringing together Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation, Flat Rock-Hawcreek School Corporation, and representatives from various community institutions and agencies to collaboratively explore this vital issue. The synergy evolving from the research, analyses, and strategies developed by the Task Force has resulted in a comprehensive plan for early intervention for at-risk youth in our county.
